SOLUTION - RFID RFID

RFID

..The RFID is an opportunity for the market..

Through the ability to interrogate the TAGs (or transponders), we can recognize and identify an object in transit, without it being physically connected by wires.

The radio frequency technologies available today are different depending on the type of use.  With the application of IdealeMobile and IdealeSales we have integrated the reading and writing via UHF.

Typically the TAG is contained in a LABEL that can be of two types, active or passive.

The active label, typically consists of several elements, a microchip, an antenna, and rarely even a very small battery.  It is, instead, passive when the TAG is formed exclusively by the Microchip.

In the presence of an RFID reader, the TAG, thanks to a magnetic reduction generated by the reader, can receive the power required to notify the content of information stored in the chip. This technology is widely used in areas where the identification of the material, or people, is necessary and must be done automatically, with no operator intervention.

Compared to more established techniques of identification such as a bar codes or magnetic cards, the RFID technology has many benefits including:

  • It doesn't have to be touched to be read as for bar codes
  • It doesn't have to be visible to be read as for bar codes
  • You can add information to it about the chip, depending on the type of chip
  • Identification and verification occur in 1/10 of a second
  • Communication can be encrypted or unencrypted

Also, RDIF labels can be equipped with several kilobytes of memory, depending on their size.  This is an interesting advantage when, in addition to identifying the object, there is the need to know the specific characteristics of the object.

there are many cases where the RDIF technology can be applied:

Shoplifting: It was one of the first fields of application of passive TAGs, where the passage of a TAG through a given passage allows a receiving antenna to identify an object in transit and then trigger an alarm accordingly.

Warehouse Logistics: Identifying not only the object but also its container or the location where it is stored allows to track the inventory in real time, quickly, and efficiently.

Attendance control: Identifying a person through an RFID TAG seems to be the best answer, compared with more traditional techniques such as bar-codes, as well as with biometric identification. It is, in face, possible to recognize several people at once and without material or visual contact through specific openings.

Service and Maintenance: Associating a TAG to each item considered critical for the planned maintenance, you can quickly understand and manage the entire life cycle of the item itself, in terms of checks, replacements or repairs.

In the supply chain using the RFID technology for tracking of goods means to reduce operating costs, increase efficiency of storage facilities, dramatically reduce errors and thus improve the efficiency of the entire supply chain.
